Figaro XML database customers inherit a data storage platform found on over 200 million servers and devices worldwide, used in a wide array of diverse applications and solutions, accessed through a multitude of different programming languages and storing vast amounts of the world's generated data. With its extensive framework support and Windows integration features, .NET developers can now access what other systems have built and deepen the layers of database compatibility in their software solutions.

Because Figaro embeds Oracle Berkeley DB as its database engine, it is able to leverage XML database containers created on the multitude of client, server, mobile and embedded platforms Berkeley DB supports. In addition to Microsoft's Windows family of products, the Berkeley DB product family runs on the following platforms:

• Unix operating systems such as Linux, Solaris, and the MacOS
• Qualcomm's BREW mobile platform
• S60 software on the Symbian OS
• Wind River's VxWorks real-time operating system (RTOS)

APIs for accessing the XML database content are available in Java, Ruby, Python, PHP, Perl, and Tcl.
